Welcome to the Loa Graphic Novel Wiki

Welcome to the Loa Wiki, your comprehensive portal to the Loa graphic novel series. This wiki serves as the ultimate resource for exploring the lives of Osric "Oz" Irons, Lyric "Lyr" Irons, and the mysterious city of Perdido Angelus, where the ordinary and the extraordinary intersect. Our mission is to cultivate a vibrant fan community, creating a detailed repository of the series' lore, characters, and much more.

Premise

Loa is the story of Osric "Oz" Irons and Lyric "Lyr" Irons. Sons of Ogun, god of iron, smiths and war. In the city of Perdido Angelus –- a magnet for paranormal activity — the younger demi-god, Oz, lives among mundane humanity as a bouncer for the nightclub, “Flavour Pink”. Meanwhile, elder brother Lyr uses his talents in vodou necromancy for the ruthless Petrosian crime family, while simultaneously plotting an ambitious ascent within the criminal underworld. When a young houngan named Runt arrives in Perdido and – through a series of fortuitous events – befriends Oz, the demi-god receives word of an impending battle between the two nanchons (nations) of loa, the Rada and Petwo. Thus Oz’s hard-earned life of (relative) peace and normalcy is shattered.

Chapters

  • Chapter 1 - Osric ‘Oz’ Irons. Bouncer by trade. Demi-god by blood. Fighter by nature. Youngest son of Ogun, Yoruba god of smiths and war. Born and raised in the enigmatic urban sprawl of Perdido Angelus, Oz and his older brother, Lyric, learned first-hand the struggle of life among humanity. Where his brother saw a milieu of bottomless cruelty and base self-interest to be exploited, Oz saw a procession of determination and resilience to be admired.
  • Chapter 2 - Lyric is sly, quick-witted, arrogant, deceptive, and highly manipulative. Able to lie and play upon other people’s wants, fears, and insecurities with an eerie degree of efficiency and personal ease. Despite being a necromancer for the criminal underground, he does have some semblance of a moral code, however. He does not involve himself in violence unless left with no other choice and has spent a large portion of his time trying to expunge the more heinous elements of the criminal world (human trafficking, police corruption, etc).

Our Goal

The Loa Wiki aspires to be more than a mere collection of facts and summaries; it seeks to be a living, breathing community where fans of the series can not only find detailed information but also contribute to the growth and enrichment of the Loa universe. Through your contributions, whether they be in the form of character analyses, lore explorations, or speculative theories, we can build a comprehensive and dynamic resource. This platform is for you to share, explore, and deepen your connection with the world of Loa, ensuring that new fans and old can discover something new with every visit.
